Grupo Éxito 2Q 2026 Net Income Rises 7.6% Year-on-Year

Medellin-based multinational supermarket giant Grupo Éxito announced August 11 that its second quarter (2Q) 2026 net income rose 7.6% year-on-year, to COP$156 billion (US$49.7 million), from COP$147 billion (US$47 million) in 2Q 2025.

Grupo Éxito consolidated revenue reached COP$5.3 trillion (US$1.69 billion) in 2Q 2026, up 5.7% year-on-year once “excluding the exchange rate effect” as the Colombian peso continued to soar in value versus the U.S. dollar.

“Colombia was the main contributor to this revenue, with the FIFA World Cup being a major driver” of supermarket sales, according to the company, while Uruguay also posted positive results, offsetting retail restructuring losses in Argentina.

Recurring earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose 12.6% year-on-year, once excluding the COP-U.S. dollar exchange-rate effect, according to the company.

Grupo Éxito also cited positive contributions from its real-estate, “Tuya,” “Éxito Media” and “Éxito Mobile” subsidiaries.

“In Colombia, Grupo Éxito continued to consolidate a positive growth and profitability trajectory,” according to the company.

“Revenues [in Colombia] reached COP$4.2 trillion [US$1.3 billion], a 7.0% increase compared to the same period in 2025, driven primarily by the strong performance of the non-food category, whose sales grew 22.5%, boosted by the commercial activity associated with the World Cup season.

“Same-store sales grew 7.7%, while omni-channel sales reached approximately COP$574 billion [US$183 million], representing 14.2% of the retail sales of the Colombian operation,” the company added.
