Non-Stop International Flights to Medellin: Delta, VivaColombia Latest Entries

U.S.-based airline giant Delta announced November 12 that it will begin daily non-stop service between Medellin and its huge Atlanta hub starting December 19, while Colombia-based “low-cost” airline VivaColombia launches daily service between Medellin and Miami on December 2.

Delta’s Atlanta hub offers more than 1,000 daily connecting departures to markets including Europe and Asia — hence putting-up new competition to rival American Airlines for passengers traveling to or from Medellin.

Passengers traveling to and from Medellin “will benefit from an enhanced experience at the Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which features full Spanish signage throughout the airport,” according to Delta.

These latest moves by Delta and VivaColombia join a growing parade of airlines offering non-stop international flights to and from Medellin, hence avoiding the overcrowded Bogota airport.

Other airlines offering international non-stop flights to and from Medellin include Avianca (to Miami, New York and Madrid), JetBlue (to Fort Lauderdale), Spirit (to Fort Lauderdale), American (to Miami), InselAir (to Curaçao), Copa (to Panama), Air Panama (to Panama), Avior (to Valencia, Venezuela), TACA/Avianca (to San Salvador, El Salvador) and  AeroMexico (to Mexico City).
